The story begins in 1959 when Sir Alec Issigonis designed the Mini. This small, urban, economy car became an instant success. However the Mini had bigger ambitions.

Before long, with the help of John Cooper, the Mini Cooper S won numerous international races including the legendary Monte Carlo rally from 1964 to 1967. Thus, creating the giant that Mini is today.

Following the tragic February 14th, 2018 Parkland Florida school shooting, a handful of courageous students refused to accept the “thoughts and prayers” narrative and took action. And so, March For Our Lives was born—the largest gun violence protest in history. Since then, those students helped pass 130 gun reform laws and create over 250 chapters across America.

As November 3rd 2020 loomed, March For Our Lives looked to make history again by making these elections the highest youth turnout in history. With the help of celebrities, politicians and gun violence survivors, we delivered an important message: VOTE

When Billy & Cecilia Faraut came to us with their film idea, we were excited yet concerned. The harvest is the most critical time of the year for us and we cannot afford to make any mistakes.

We need to pick the grapes, transport them, sort them, crush them and put them in vats all in one go. All of this with the weather looming and against the clock! We need to fully concentrate on our mission, nothing else. No time to waste rehearsing or reshooting.

Billy & Cecilia were able to capture the essence of our passionate winemaking process as well as the spirit of Burgundy, without interfering with our actions. They were there shooting , listening , moving with us as members of our team. At times we forgot they were there to capture this very special moment.

We shared a wonderful week together without having to act or pretend. They were part of our team, part of our family. The result is amazingly authentic. They were able to convey our emotions and the love for what we do during this very dramatic week.

Although I am a rather discreet and occasionally even secretive person, they were able to extract what wine making truly means to me and what lays at the bottom of my heart... that’s a real talent, beyond their obvious technical and creative expertise.

New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo gives a daily briefing through the pandemic. His voice provides a much needed sense of comfort and hope. On March 24th, he delivers his most heartfelt speech to date. This film is inspired by these words.
